spring flowers

I saw the first tree of the year in full bloom and happened to have my camera with me. It was just a little while before sunset and the light was great!

Email me your feedback on the new site, I’d love to hear what you have to say. I think the next round of updates will be to pull in a little bit of color, make the intro slideshow smaller with an easier to see skip button and then introduce the shopping cart. There are a few really cool secret things coming along too, but you’ll have to wait :) .

I am in the process of reading Freakonomics : A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. It is a very interesting book, I haven’t read enough of it yet to understand the whole theme but there seems to be a large focus on looking at the cause and effect relationship differently. To take on an abstract position and really get creative in figuring out why things are happening. I’ll write more about the book after I finish it :) .

I hope you enjoyed the images.

I posted a link to the WedShooter article that I wrote for May (here is the link again) in an earlier entry. Here is a piece of feedback that was emailed to me by David Beckstead, who is one of the most artistic wedding photographers in the world (I would hire him to photograph my wedding :) ):

“I liked the article very much! In fact I emailed it to my own national referral group to check out and see how we can up the %. ”

That simple reply definitely made me smile when I read it, read the WedShooter article to put the comment in the proper context.

site is online

Check out my new website, it is online now!

I also have an article online about booking wedding clients at WedShooter.

Garry Geer took this portrait of me in the studio for my new website, I really like it.

new site

The new site is coming out on May 1st, it looks amazing, I’m so excited! I’ll also link to a great wedding photography resource that I’ll be writing for :)

My telephone had some problems this weekend, so if you called me and received a message that said ‘this cingular customer is not accepting calls at this time’ the problem is resolved. I wasn’t able to get my phone activated until Monday morning so I didn’t get any voice messages or incoming calls all weekend!

I promise to type more after I finish my article and meetings ;)

Have a great week.

music video and small reflection

As I finish burning DVDs of my good friends and talented indie rock group NAVAR from their studio session and private club show in NYC I want to give you a simple and profound statement for the rest of your week :)

There is nothing more important than developing a strong social network by being a genuinely kind and interested person. The people you help always seem to return the favor ten fold and at the best possible moment. With that in mind, the past 6 months have been an amazing trip at an unbelievable speed and the next 6 months are going to be even greater! You will start to see some excellent things come together for me and my business due large in part to the wonderful people that I have met and the unique projects that I have been involved in. Keep checking out the blog to see every new development, and remember Your Network = Your Net worth ;) Thanks to everyone that is part of my network, I love helping you all!

I have been playing the video from the NAVAR concert in NYC for the past 20 minutes and I love it! You absolutely need to download this and see why I have been working with NAVAR for the past two years (3-29-04) and why they are going to be huge (just as soon as Pat reads The Tipping Point ;) )

By the way Pat, of NAVAR, I am super excited about your upcoming album! The new material that I’ve heard live is so energizing, I love hearing it… you have the talent, now it’s time to create the word of mouth epidemic!

Watch Wompatuck, it awesome

Watch Anything, it’s great

studio image

I met Garry in the studio today for a few hours. We tested out the Nikon D70 vs the Nikon D200 cameras for high iso noise. I didn’t really care which camera won… I was really interested in this killer shot of me in front of a 1983 hand painted backdrop, taken by Don (a retired Kodak photographer)!

Seriously, the real reason for going to the studio was to take some head shots for an RIT graduate graphic designer. You’ll have to wait on the beautiful girl photos until Garry emails me one or two (then I’ll sneak some on my blog :) )

new book, new site (almost), busy week

I am in the process of reading Blink: The power of thinking without thinking, the book is a little slow to read but is very interesting. Basically, Blink is about that split second decision that our subconscious mind makes before our conscious analysis kicks in… it is shocking how accurate we are with just that immediate decision.

I have a super-cool new site being developed. It is going to use photographs, video interviews, voice overs, amazing slide shows, a shopping cart, online image proofing and tons more! That will be online in the next few months, look forward to it :)

I have to meet many clients and venues this week, it is going to be very busy.

I have not really had the time to photograph anything new recently so here is an out take from my cousin’s baptism.

I hope you enjoyed the image!
