Last Thursday I got an email from a really old friend, someone I knew in elementary school, middle school and high school but who I haven’t talked to in 5+ years. More coming later… I want to build the suspense (actually, I’m just too tired to write more)

I hurt my hand somehow today… I’m not sure what I did or how I did it. It is painful to extend the first finger on my right hand. It hurts in between the knuckle on the first and second finger. Good thing I don’t have a wedding this weekend, now it will have time to heal.

I talked to Manute this afternoon. He moved to the greater Kansas City area on Sunday, now he is closer to his extended family. I am confused about where he lives though, the address he gave me on the phone today has too many consonants in it… he spelled it out for me and it sounds totally different when he says it from how he spelled it to me. I think I am going to have to call him again and have him give it to me a second time ’cause I don’t think we can have three consonants next to each other in English. It’s not really his fault though, I have a really hard time understanding people with accents and his is pretty thick. I am getting better at understanding him though, in the beginning, I just sat next to him at lunch or dinner and nodded a lot. Now I can actually hold out a conversation with him.

I just had to turn down a trip to Panama to see a heavyweight fight and Africa with Manute… too bad people do things during wedding season. Let’s do things during the winter, when I have 4-months off

My clients are from out of state and were only going to be in town the week of their wedding so I had to rush this engagement session as much as possible in order to get the images taken and delivered before their wedding. Check out this crazy schedule.

4pm Monday, schedule a time and location for the engagement session
Late Wednesday, my clients get into New York
9am Thursday, we spend an hour in Canandaigua taking photos
12pm Thursday, I edit the photographs
10am Friday, the clients place their order
12pm Saturday, I pick up the order from the lab
1pm Saturday, I hand-deliver the prints to the client’s friend
8pm Saturday, they give the prints as gifts during the rehearsal dinner
12pm Sunday, I photograph the wedding
10pm Sunday, I get home and start editing the wedding photos

Only one photo from this session, sorry, with the wedding being so close to the engagement session I have to put priority on editing the wedding photographs
