short post
I know I post this a lot, but if you are one of the many people who think that traveling for work is fun, I have to tell you that it sucks more than you can imagine!
Traveling for meetings is nothing like traveling for a vacation… you are taking the first and last flights of the day, wearing a suit, meeting tight deadlines and carrying the bare necessities to stay comfortable on the road.
On my way home from Philly (I was returning so that I could photograph this weekend’s wedding), the train hit a person, I missed all three flights that I was booked for or on standby for and I got to the airport at like 1am. I ended up staying right at the airport since it was silly to get a hotel room for just a few hours, so I walked around and watched people doing their jobs until 5am. By the time that I got home, I had been awake and meeting/traveling for 28.5 hours
I guess JetBlue’s policy is that if you are more than 4-hours late for your flight without calling, you forfeit the fare… and since I was a lot more than 4-hours late and had better things to do than call JetBlue, I was told that I would have to buy a new ticket to get home. Undeterred, I managed to get a new ticket for $0.00, be listed as a confirmed passenger versus as a standby passenger and to get an exit row aisle seat without having to pay the $10 or $15 fee for the bigger seats. I attribute it to being nice to the customer service person, instead of being one of the many stressed out travelers who yell at people who have nothing to do with travel delays.
The meetings went very well. Everything is progressing and I can’t wait to tell you what I am doing!
Many photos coming soon
Time for me to sleep before tomorrow’s wedding
Have a great day!
