feeling better now

Just got over my second sickness of the year… which is around 2-more than usual for me!

It was the whole thing… headache, sneezing, coughing, tiredness, etc.

So glad to be feeling better again

Now, time to catch up with blogging, and emails, and editing, and phone calls, and shipping, and burning discs, etc… all that stuff piles up fast!!!

Have a great day!

Canandaigua vs Webster Schroeder – Girls Volleyball

I photographed a high school girls volleyball game for the Rochester newspaper last week, Canandaigua versus Webster Schroeder, and these are a few of my favorite photos :)

Photographing for the Newspaper

Strategically, high school sports is a million times easier to photograph than pro sports… there is no id to show, no credentials to obtain, no security to pass through, no zone restrictions, no network cameras taking prime positions, etc.

Photographically, high school sports is a million times tougher to photograph than pro sports… there is almost no light, the action is slower, the same plays get repeated again and again, etc.

I am photographing sports for the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper, which I am excited about :)

Here are a few photos from day 1, enjoy!

20-shots and a million prescriptions

They want me to get more shots and take more prescription medications for traveling to Southern Sudan than I have ever taken in my entire 24-years of life combined and cubed!

This is crazy, I think I need to call some of my National Geographic, Jane Goodall Institute and BBC friends and find out what the real deal is with Yellow Fever, malaria and the million other things the CDC claims I’ll die of.

I am more concerned about traveling with a 7′7″ man who has had two assassination bombing attempts made on his life by the Islamic Fundamentalists of Northern Sudan with support from the Sudanese government, and who has been captured and detained without trial in Khartoum than I am about mosquitoes. Oh yeah, the impending civil war and the ruthless Janjaweed cause me a little concern too…

Good thing the SPLA is on my team’s side :)

Have a great day!

Do something important right now!

Write to your representative and tell your congressman whether you want him to vote in favor of or against the proposed $700-billion dollar bailout plan!

If you live near me, then there is a good chance that you need to write to Randy Kuhl, in which case, use this link.

You need to write a respectful letter saying whether you support the bill or not with a brief reason why, and then mention that you will not be able to vote for him in the upcoming election if he does not vote in line with what you support.

The election is less than 2-months away, they are listening to us, we have already proven that once; take the 90-seconds out of your day and make a difference!

Have a great day!

personal accomplishment

I have figured out how to become genuinely and completely happy regardless of external circumstances (happiness has nothing whatsoever to do with money, it is great!) :)

Next, comes mastering it to make it a more permanent part of my life and to be able be more immediately enact it when it is missing.

I feel great now!

I’ll be replying to emails and voice messages today, before I leave for this weekend’s wedding.

Do you have a Facebook account? If so become my friend :)

(i’d love to know what you think when you read this… no need to say, just thinking aloud)

Have a great day!
